Getting Started

Enrolment and Orientation Year 1

Enrolment and Orientation (inc Hons, GradDip, Masters and PhD)

BPharm and GradDipPharmSc: The School holds an orientation session for new students on the Friday before semester 1 begins. This includes introductions to personnel, where to find other departments and timetable information. It is a valuable session to attend. You will also receive a booklet version of the content included on these webpages for information for new students.

BPharm fast-track: If you have been approved credit and the fast-track option, it is anticipated an extra orientation will be organised once semester begins. In any case, you should contact the School before semester begins to discuss your study program for the academic year.

MPharmSc: Attendance at the BPharm orientation is recommended for all new students but the School holds a compulsory orientation session for new MPharmSc students on the Wednesday before that semester begins at 10am in PPL2. This includes introductions to the course coordinator, Dr Christian Narkowicz, and will include discussion regarding your research component and your study program for the academic year.

It is essential that you arrange for an ID card through the Student Centre (needed for borrowing from the Library and compulsory for entry to examinations).

You will automatically receive a UTas email address which should be supplied with the paperwork sent to you. In addition to many other uses, staff will use your UTas email address to send you messages and information. For current unit matters the University's online program, MyLO, will also keep you informed of lecture variations. It is in your interest to check this and your UTas email regularly.

Further information on Austudy, CSP, academic records, admission, enrolment and graduation records can be obtained from the UTas Current Student webpage.

The University has a website specifically for student in their first year at UTas. A wide range of information is available at this site, including enrolment information, campus maps, and much more.
