UTas Credit Form

Credit for each unit will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and in accordance with any specific conditions as set out in University Rule 69, Student Progress.

Application for credit needs to be made on the form obtainable from the UTas website or the Student Centre. The UTas website details the documentation necessary to assist in the assessment of your application.

The form and documentation should be forwarded to Gina Hadolt, School of Pharmacy for consideration and students are advised of the outcome as soon as practicable. You are reminded that if necessary documentation is not included your credit application will be denied. It is essential for the School to be able to ascertain whether your previous study is equivalent to the unit you are seeking credit for by viewing detailed unit outlines of previous study.

Credit will only be considered for units which have been successfully completed within 5 years of admission to the Bachelor of Pharmacy, unless stated otherwise.

The maximum credit awarded within the School of Pharmacy will be in accordance with the rules as documented in University Rule 69, Student Progress, as follows:

“Credit granted for a completed award, from this University or another approved institution, of the same level as that in which credit is being sought, will not normally exceed one third of the coursework requirements of the course in which credit is being sought.

Credit granted for studies towards an uncompleted award, from this University or another approved institution, of the same level as that in which credit is being sought, will not normally exceed two thirds of the coursework requirements of the course in which credit is being sought.

Credit granted for a completed award, from this University or another approved institution, at a lower level than that in which credit is being sought, will not normally exceed an amount equivalent to two-thirds of the total coursework of the lower level award, except as provided in clause 4.3.4 of Rule 69.”

The School of Pharmacy will notify applicants of the outcome of their application. The closing date for all credit applications to be lodged is the end of week 1 of semester 1. If all paperwork has not arrived by this date please lodge the application with an indication that further paperwork is to follow. If applications are lodged after this time the School cannot guarantee your enrolment will be finalised by census date.

If credit is approved you must see Gina Hadolt to vary your enrolment.
