Inaugural Fellowship and Scholarship Program

Local Pharmacists Receive National Recognition

Two of the School of Pharmacy’s up and coming health professionals, Dr Shane Jackson and Mr Luke Bereznicki,
have been announced as recipients of the National Institute of Clinical Studies’ (NICS) inaugural Fellowship and
Scholarship Program, in recognition of their commitment and drive and their potential to become industry leaders
in evidence-based health care.

They join seven other health professionals from around the country as the foundation NICS Scholars and Fellows.

Dr Jackson, Research Pharmacist at the Tasmanian School of Pharmacy, University of Tasmania, has been awarded a NICS Fellowship, which will see him conduct a two-year implementation project.

Mr Bereznicki, also from the Tasmanian School of Pharmacy, has been awarded a NICS Scholarship to undertake a three year doctoral research project.

Both projects are designed to further develop the knowledge and expertise in closing the gaps between evidence and practice.
