TEH
Yingqi
Yingqi
graduated with the BPharm in 2005. She is from Klang, Malaysia.
She heard about the Tasmanian School of Pharmacy from
JM Education - an agent in Malaysia.
Cheaper fees compared to other
mainland universities and a cheaper cost of living attracted
Yingqi to Tasmania.
Yinqui feels that because
of the smaller size of this school lecturers can offer more
time and energy to the students. Yingqi
enjoyed the Pharmacy course - and also found time to see
the sights in Tasmania - she enjoyed bushwalks and white
water rafting - and took photos wherever she went.

KHOR
Yet Shen
Yet
Shen is from Penang, Malaysia.
He was given information about the Tasmanian School of Pharmacy
from an education service called IDP.
Hobart's airport
is located in a quiet spot, about 25km from Hobart and is
quite bare. Yet Shen recalls when he first arrived at the
airport - he thought he had landed somewhere undeveloped!
Upon crossing the Tasman Bridge the city of Hobart comes
well into view and Yet Shen knew his first impression was
not correct, he was pleasantly surprised! Although he had
always hoped to study in the computer science area - or
even electrical and electronic engineering, he enjoyed the
pharmacy course.
He is in his
final year and especially likes the fact that the lecturers
know student's names - he says it makes him feel part of
a big family.Yet Shen spends his free time surfing the net,
playing computer and video games, watching movies and visiting
his friends. He has travelled to various parts of Tasmania
and says the people are friendly and always prepared to
help when you are in trouble (I hope that's not often, Yet
Shen!).

LIMUS
Justin
Justin
first heard about the Tasmanian
School of Pharmacy at the Australian High Commission in his
home country, Brunei Dorusielam (he is from the city
of Bardor Se Begqamas).
Justin chose
pharmacy as a career because he has always been interested
in what goes on behind the counter in community pharmacies
and hospitals. He has enjoyed the course and is now working
in a community pharmacy to qualify for registration. Justin
is amazed at the different climates Tasmania can produce
(we have a saying here, and that is - if you don't like
the weather come back in 5 minutes!) and says he enjoys
the quiet, relaxed environment and atmosphere. He spends
his time away from study playing computer games and travelling
around Tasmania - enjoying the beautiful scenery and the
quietness.

KwangChoon
KwangChoon
is from Kuching, Malaysia.
He completed his Year 12 studies at Hobart College in Tasmania.
He did not know what studies he wanted to do at the end of
this time, but was helped along in his decision-making by
being awarded a scholarship to the School.
KwangChoon
graduated in 2003 with BPharm(Hons), having enrolled in
the Integrated Honours program which allowed him to do an
overload in years 3 and 4 to complete Honours (having had
at least a credit average in first and second years). Although
KwangChoon had a heavy study load, he still made time for
hanging out with his friends, watching TV - he enjoys sports
and wandering on the internet. He has visited some areas
of Tasmania, and has enjoyed these trips. He also enjoys
the food - although he doesn't specify which type!
Footnote:
KwangChoon
has been accepted into the PhD program with the School.
Starting in 2005 he will begin a project on asthma with
supervisor Dr Glenn Jacobson. |
