Introduction |
UMORE 's strategic vision is to become a premier source of information, education and collaborative research in the assessment and improvement of medication outcomes. See current and recently completed projects undertaken by the group.
Members of the group have conducted many research, education and consulting projects exploring a range of aspects of medication outcomes and their improvement. The success of these projects has led to the group being the preferred tenderer for a number of major commissioned projects offered by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing, and the Pharmacy Guild of Australia. Indeed, several major million-dollar projects from these bodies have been identified for future funding beyond that discussed in this document.
The group has a strong emphasis on promotion of research higher degrees and three of the staff are current, and almost completed, PhD candidates. The group supervises Masters and Honours level research projects and is actively involved in current community pharmacy practice.
The group's expertise in clinical evidence based outcomes of medications has been recognised by the National Institute of Clinical Studies, with two of the nine scholarships available in Australia being awarded to members of the group.
UMORE has had a steady flow of visiting international research students from Holland and Denmark.
