The Southern Tasmanian Division of General Practice (STDGP) is an independent, incorporated body governed by an elected Board comprising GPs and Independent Directors.
The Division aims to improve health outcomes through general practice.
To achieve its aims, the Division offers a wide range of services and resources to GPs and their staff to promote quality care and strengthen the capacity and viability of practices.
The Division's services focus in four key areas:
- Quality Care: focussing on training, support and resources to support GPs' clinical practice
- Practice Capacity: building stronger, more viable practices, and supporting practice staff, including nurses
- GP Partnerships and Integration: linking GPs with other health service providers, consumers and hospitals, and advocating for GPs
- Division Governance and Management: ensuring the organisation is relevant and responsive to general practice, and run professionally and accountably.
