Chris Doran

Associate Professor
Consultant Health Economist

Associate Professor Chris Doran is the lead health economist at the Centre for Burden of Disease and Cost-Effectiveness, University of Queensland. His main research activities involve examining the cost-effectiveness of health care interventions. Chris co-ordinates the health economic teaching program at the University of Queensland and has been directly involved in the establishment of the certificate, diploma and masters health economic programs. Chris currently leads a large NHMRC funded capacity building grant in the area of health economics and is a chief investigator on several other large externally funded project grants ranging from community alcohol action in rural NSW communities to building the evidence base for health policy in Vietnam. Chris was previously employed at the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (UNSW) in Sydney where he was the principal health economist on the NEPOD (National Evaluation of Pharmacotherapies for Opioid Dependence) project.
